From all reports they were just about to put pen to paper and it seems as though the decision has been made at a much higher level than the coaching staff and players. Mason would have been a great acquisition for the Tigers who currently have some young forwards who aren't quite up to first grade yet. He has returned from a stint in French rugby, has been training hard by himself and is fitter than ever. It helped that he probably saw more ball in the one game than he would normally see in three games at centre.
