Retail volume up 0.1 percent in eurozone in July
BRUSSELS, Sept. 4 () -- Retail sales rose 0.1 percent month to month in July in the eurozone and 0.2 percent in the European Union, the data office Eurostat said Wednesday.From July 2012, retail sales dropped 1.3 percent in the 17-member currency union. The highest increases were in Luxembourg with sales up 17.7 percent and Malta with sales up 6 percent. In Lithuania, sales rose 5.9 percent month to month.The largest declines were in Slovenia, Spain and Portugal, with decreases of 6.4 percent, 5.5 percent and 2.2 percent, Eurostat said.
