McKean Defense providing Navy with fleet introduction support services
PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 4 () -- The U.S. Navy has contracted McKean Defense Group LLC to provide fleet introduction support services, including logistics and pre-commissioning support.The contract awarded by the Naval Sea Systems Command Surface Training Systems Program Office is a five-year, cost plus incentive fee arrangement with a value of more than $58 million.Work under the award will be done specifically for the program office's Fleet Introduction Support Services for New Construction, In-Service Vessels and AEGIS Ashore Detachments.Task orders will include include logistics, technical, training, administrative and information technology/network support for Program Executive Office SHIPS, PEO CARRIERS, PEO LCS and PEO SUBS."This is a strategic award for McKean," said Joseph L. Carlini, chief executive officer of McKean. "Our team is prepared to offer strategies and approaches that will deliver new efficiencies to PMS 339.
