McKean Defense providing Navy with fleet introduction support services
PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 4 () -- The U.S. Navy has contracted McKean Defense Group LLC to provide fleet introduction support services, including logistics and pre-commissioning support.The contract awarded by the Naval Sea Systems Command Surface Training Systems Program Office is a five-year, cost plus incentive fee arrangement with a value of more than $58 million.Work under the award will be done specifically for the program office's Fleet Introduction Support Services for New Construction, In-Service Vessels and AEGIS Ashore Detachments.Task orders will include include logistics, technical, training, administrative and information technology/network support for Program Executive Office SHIPS, PEO CARRIERS, PEO LCS and PEO SUBS."This is a strategic award for McKean," said Joseph L. Carlini, chief executive officer of McKean. "Our team is prepared to offer strategies and approaches that will deliver new efficiencies to PMS 339. We are committed to a rapid and smooth transition critical for these high-visibility programs."McKean Defense Group is a naval life cycle management and engineering firm. It said its team for performing contract tasks will include Delta Resources, DDL Omni Engineering, Science Applications International Corp., AMSEC LLC, Battelle Memorial Institute, L-3 Communications Government Services Inc.,[url=http://www.moncleroutleto.co.uk]moncler uk[/url], Rite Solutions, ICI Services, Herdt Consulting Inc., and Contemporary Services Corp.Additional contract details were not disclosed.
