In the current report, manufacturing growth was pegged at 0.4 percent following a 0.2 percent decline in the first quarter. The ONS said the GDP is still recovering from the sharp declines of 2008 and 2009.From the pre-recession peak to its recessionary low, the British economy shrank 7.2 percent, the ONS said. By the end of the second quarter, the GDP was estimated at 3.3 percent below its peak in the first quarter of 2008.
