CLIFTON, N.J., March 7 () -- Multi-mode radar is being supplied to the U.S. Coast Guard by ITT Exelis for use on long-range surveillance aircraft.The AN/APY-11 units to be fitted on the nose and belly of HC-130J Super Hercules aircraft will provide 360-degree coverage for detection and tracking of small and large ships up to a distance of 200 nautical miles."Our multi-mode radar system is the most effective maritime surveillance radar in its class," said Peter Martin, director of Programs, Defense Systems, for the Exelis Electronic Attack and Release Systems business.
