and have been trying to remedy this ever since. The 2 problems are that the PC in question has no A: Drive so bootable floppy disks are out of the question and that both PC's I own come with preloaded XP. Normally I'd just take my PC in for service but every time I do they wipe my hard drive. Actually I think they just replace it,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], judging by how there nothing is left not even traces of my programs I had on there,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], so I am eager to avoid this. I tried looking on the internet for help and advice but all roads point to me getting windows XP CD ROM. I typed this into Google,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and came across some site that offer XP in a download format,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], many of them free. With many laptops you're supposed to create recovery CD's using one of the preinstalled softwares when you use the computer for the first time,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], make sure you do so next time.
If this is about a desktop computer then take the hard drive out and hook in in another computer with the same version of XP (and same service pack) to replace the files from there,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. You can do the same with laptops but you'll need a 2,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].5'' usb external enclosure to place the drive into,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. If you can't solve the problem then backup your personal data on the other computer and use the recovery partition to reinstall from scratch,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
You can buy an OEM CD with XP Home SP3 (provided it's XP Home that you need) for less than $100 on some websites but in your shoes I'd borrow a friend's CD,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. The "ntldr is missing error message" doesn't require you to reinstall XP,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. />
It's Windows MCE,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], that version isn't sold as OEM software,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], your best bet is to contact Packard Bell and ask them to send you a recovery CD or use the built-in recovery partition (there'll be a "press xx to start recovery" message at startup).
To backup your personal data you can either take the drive out and hook in in another computer or use a bootable CD that will allow you to save your data on an external USB drive (like the ultimate boot CD for Windows or an ubuntu live CD),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
If the problem reappears it has to be some hardware issue. Enter the BIOS at startup and report your temps,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], fan speeds and voltages. Clean all the dust on the fans and heatsinks.

To install the secondary sata drive hook it on a free sata port then check in the BIOS whether all drives appear properly.
