A Dance History,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
Not to be mistaken with laminate flooring or Formica tiles, the Quick Step is among the five main ballroom dances. The fast Step would be a popular march around 1850,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but it is not to do with the current ballroom Quick Step,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which was blended from a number of dance styles like the Charleston but more notably the Foxtrot,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], that could be danced at either a fast or slow tempo to a variety of musical styles. The Foxtrot was extremely popular in the 1920s and is still highly popular today.
Because the Foxtrot evolved the ones started to distinguish different versions,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the slower version became known as the Slow Foxtrot. Further variations developed,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], however,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], for example once the Slow Foxtrot was played too fast by many bands. The faster version was then known as the Quick-Time Foxtrot,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and this was further simplified towards the Quick Part of the late 1920s. Influenced also by the Waltz,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], that is danced in3/4 time, the fast Step is a 4/4 time dance having a speed of around 200 beats per minute. The movement is similar in many ways towards the polka,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as dancers move in a slow operated with quick steps. The partners hold one another inside a closed position,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], stepping swiftly round the floor in a syncopated dash that is punctuated with kicks, twists,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], foot crosses,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], hops,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], points and skips. It takes lots of energy to do it right and is a lot of fun.
Perhaps no other dance continues to be relying on a wide variety of dances as the Quick Step,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which eventually combined elements of the Foxtrot,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Waltz,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], March,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], One Step,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Peabody,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Charleston, Black Bottom,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and others. While the Foxtrot was all American,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the definitive version of the Quick Step was actually developed in England. Anderson brought the Foxtrot to London and partnered with Josephine Bradley in dance competitions,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], winning numerous trophies. The English favored new dances from America and put their own spin in it. In 1927,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the Quick Step emerged as its own style when Frank Ford and Molly Spain danced together in the Star Dance Championships. Within a year it had caught on since it's own dance craze.
The fast Step follows a sluggish,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], quick,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], quick,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], slow,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], quick,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], quick pattern that needs rapid changes in balance to avoid landing horizontal on the floor. Your heel is on the ground throughout the slow moves,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and the ball of the foot is on the floor throughout the quick moves. It takes a little bit of coordination which means you will not have the ability to Quick Step and chew gum at the same time " and these would be the steps. You need to be very light on your feet and dance just like you have springs inside your shoes. The fast Step is among the more energetic forms of ballroom dance,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and it is enjoyed from London to New York.
The basic beat won't provide you with enough of an understanding of the movement of the Quick Step. It is very important to have the springy and happy feel,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and following the beats through the book won't accomplish this. Therefore,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], most Quick Step dancers consider a quick beat to be extremely quick,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and a slow beat to become extremely slow. So,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the slow beats are extended making up for by doing the quick ones even faster. This seems like a little and insignificant detail, but it makes all the dance what it's.
